Life partners, Danie van der Heever & Janni van Staden, spent most of their lives working in creative industries and media. Janni is a film art director, and Danie began his working life as a graphic designer, moving on to the music industry, managing artists, and finally producing film. In 2015 they decided to move back to Cape Town, the city in which they were both born, and bought, and renovated a property in one of Cape Town's most beautiful neighbourhoods, Hout Bay. The result is Poseidon Guest House. A home they share with their two good natured dogs; Bella & Kenzo.

While close enough to Cape Town's CBD to enjoy what the city has to offer, Hout Bay surrounds its own Atlantic seaboard bay, and harbour, with the world famous Chapman's Peak in close proximity. Not only does Hout Bay offer some of the most beautiful surroundings and beaches in Cape Town, but also offers a wide range of tourist activities eg. cycling routes, horse trails, hiking trails, water sports and craft & food markets, for both the younger set, as well as those who just want a relaxing break.
